Identify Early Signs of Workplace Stress & Burnout
About This Storyboard
This storyboard was designed using an action-mapping approach: rather than starting with content, I started by identifying the specific actions employees need to take to support mental health awareness in the workplace — recognizing signs of stress, knowing when and how to seek help, communicating supportively with colleagues, and applying prevention strategies.
From there, I identified only the essential information needed to support each action — avoiding unnecessary theory that wouldn’t directly help learners make real decisions. Each of the five modules pairs this essential information with a realistic, scenario-based practice activity, so learners apply what they’ve learned rather than just reading about it.
Module structure:
- Recognizing Early Signs of Workplace Stress and Burnout
- Evaluating Mental Health Support Resources and Services
- Integrating Mental Well-being Practices into Daily Routines
- Effective Communication to Support Colleagues
- Applying Prevention Strategies to Mitigate Workplace Stressors
